Daly Companion Pet Care LLC
Welcome to the first edition of the Daly Companion Pet Care blog. As a pet care provider, I am always looking at helpful articles on pet training, dog/cat behavior, and of course funny, heart-felt animal videos. I hope they make you smile and you learn something new!
Pet of the Month!
Hudson Cuddles Simpson is a vibrant 7-month-old Shepherd Retriever mix, who came into our home of three kids and a spunky 14 YO Jack Russell Terrier, named Sprout. In Fall 2020, my dream of finally owning a puppy was coming true as we planned a 2,000-mile road trip to West Virginia to visit with family, who also happened to be the owners of the litter – this was a gift like no other! We brought him home at 6 weeks old and he was a very patient passenger, which is true still to this day – he loves car rides. Having a puppy to raise takes so much work and consistency, but it’s been an incredible journey so far. He is so smart, funny, yet can really test your patience, but I feel so much joy when he shows me how much he loves me by listening, snuggling up in my lap like no buddy’s business, following me around the house, or laying right at my feet while I wash dishes. We have been so fortunate to be able to spend an abundance of time at home with Hudson because of the pandemic; watching him grow, teaching him commands and tricks (“rumba” is his favorite trick), training to walk and run alongside me; Hudson has been a wonderful addition to our family and his love is already unconditional, especially if you have a treat in your pocket.
Pet Therapy
This past year has been tough for us all except for our pets. They love having their owners home with them ALL the time. As people start to head back into the office and kids back to school, our pets might have a bit of separation anxiety. I have included a couple of articles on how to ease your pets back into the 9-5 routine they (and you) haven’t been accustomed to in 12 months.

Pet Training:
Since the pandemic, I’ve had a number of clients adopt puppies. This is a great video to help with training during different stages of their development. It’s a 25-minute video and if you have kids make it a family event. The whole human family needs to be consistent with their training methods if you want a happy, trained pup.
